Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new building of the Prime Minister’s Office, Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhavan 1 and 2, on Friday. The Prime Minister’s Office gave this information on Wednesday. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that this inauguration is a milestone in the administrative governance structure of India and it reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment towards building a modern, efficient, accessible and people-centric governance system. The statement said that for decades, many key government offices and ministries were located at different locations in the Central Vista area and operated with aging infrastructure.

The statement said the non-colocation of offices led to operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges, increased maintenance costs and problems with decent work environment. It says new building complexes solve these problems by consolidating administrative functions within modern and future-ready facilities. Seva Tirtha houses the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat, which were earlier located at different locations.

Duty Buildings 1 and 2 house the offices of law, defence, finance, health, agriculture and many other important ministries. Both building complexes have digitally integrated offices, structured public interaction areas and centralized reception facilities. Designed in accordance with 4-star GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) standards, these complexes include renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions and high-performance building structures, the statement said.

The Prime Minister’s Office said that these measures significantly reduce environmental impact and increase operational efficiency. These building complexes have extensive security arrangements such as smart entry control systems, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a safe and secure environment for officials and visitors.
