New Delhi: A dispute over an Instagram comment allegedly led to the fatal stabbing of a man in North Delhi’s Sadar Bazar area.

The incident took place on February 20 after the victim’s daughter posted a wedding-related story on Instagram following her court marriage. A relative allegedly posted a remark suggesting that she had eloped, triggering a heated exchange between the two families.

According to police, the argument escalated over phone calls, during which threats were allegedly issued.

Later that evening, the victim, identified as Satish, along with his wife and daughter, went to the accused’s residence in an attempt to resolve the dispute. While returning, they were allegedly intercepted in a lane and attacked.

Police said Aman, along with his father Ashwani and sister Rashmi, assaulted Satish. During the altercation, Aman allegedly stabbed Satish in the chest. The victim’s wife was also assaulted when she tried to intervene.

Satish was rushed to Lady Hardinge Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Following the incident, the three accused fled.

Police traced them through phone location data. Aman was arrested from Bakkarwala in outer Delhi, while the others were arrested from Nandgram in Ghaziabad.

Further investigation is underway.
