New Exam Dates: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced a change in the schedule for the Technician Recruitment Examination (CEN 02/2025). According to the latest notification, the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade II will now take place on March 6, March 9, and March 13, 2026. This adjustment comes as the exams were initially set for March 5-9. The recruitment aims to fill 183 Technician Grade I Signal roles and 6,055 Technician Grade III positions.

Identification Requirements

On the examination day, candidates must present valid identification. Entry will be denied if the identification documents do not match the details provided during the application process. It is essential to carry the original photo ID that was submitted with the application.

Selection Process Overview

Steps Involved:
The selection will include a Written Examination (CBT), a Medical Test, and Document Verification. Note that there will be negative marking in the CBT, with one-third of a mark deducted for each incorrect answer.

Exam Pattern for Technician Grade I

The Technician Grade I CBT will last for 90 minutes and consist of 100 questions. To qualify, candidates from the unreserved category need to score at least 40%, while OBC candidates require 30%, SC candidates also need 30%, and ST candidates must achieve 25%. The question distribution is as follows:

Subject Number of Questions
General Awareness 10
General Intelligence and Reasoning 15
Basics of Computers and Applications 20
Mathematics 20
Basic Science and Engineering 35

Each question carries one mark.

Exam Pattern for Technician Grade III

Similar to Grade I, the Technician Grade III CBT will also be 90 minutes long with 100 questions. The qualifying scores are the same as for Grade I. The distribution of questions is as follows:

Subject Number of Questions
General Awareness 10
General Intelligence and Reasoning 25
Mathematics 25
General Science 40

Each question also carries one mark.

Important Reminders for Candidates

As in previous years, there will be a single paper for the RRB Technician recruitment, which is a significant advantage for candidates. In 2018, the Technician recruitment exam was conducted in two phases.

Additional Tips:
Candidates should download their exam city information slip and admit card promptly, arrive at the examination center at least 90 minutes before the reporting time, and comply with biometric verification procedures. It is advisable to practice with mock tests in the days leading up to the exam and to review key formulas. Regularly check the official website for any updates or changes.
