A star from has opened up on a heartbreaking situation she faced while appearing on the BBC show. Last year's contestant, Raj Chohan, joined the programme to gain recognition for her mortgage broker business.

She had high hopes of "becoming the UK's leading lady within the bridging world of finance". However, in a savage firing from , the Leamington Spa contestant didn't make it to the final - missing out on a contract from the businessman.

Lord Sugar said in the boardroom: "This is a selling task, your selling skills Raj, although you say are good, were not good in this case... but the salesmanship was no good whatsoever."

He added: "And for that reason, Raj, I'm sorry, but I think you are responsible for the failure of this task and therefore You're Fired."

Raj was supposed to reunite with the cast to watch the final episode of the show, but she told that she was forced to give it a miss.

She exclusively shared: "I couldn't make it to the final either. It was just I got so snowed under with work, and I just couldn't make it to the final."

Explaining what had made her work load so busy, Raj emotionally added: "I had a few challenges, and you're probably the first person I'm going to tell actually, when we were announced to come on The Apprentice, my husband had a heart attack.

"So this time last year, he was in intensive care for a week and a half, and then he came out of hospital after a couple of weeks.

"He just came out on the day of the first episode airing, and it just meant that my husband and I both work together, and we were quite busy."

She continued: "We had two developments going on. We've got about five or six businesses that we run together, and then it just threw us totally.

"So he was then not really working for about three years. So there was a lot of pressure on me throughout the whole of the Apprentice process, and then my son had his GCSEs and it was just a whole lot."
