You can now tokenize your credit, debit cards on PhonePe

PhonePe has launched a device tokenization feature for debit and credit cards, starting with Visa cards.

The feature lets you tokenize your cards on the PhonePe app and will soon be expanded to support other networks.

It simplifies transactions related to bill payments, recharges, travel bookings, insurance purchases, and payments at online merchants using PhonePe's payment gateway.

The tokenization feature saves users from saving card details on merchant platforms or entering CVV codes for every transaction.

Rahul Chari, Co-founder and CTO of PhonePe, said the launch of this feature marks a step forward in making digital payments more secure and seamless.

He revealed plans to expand this offering by integrating with more card payment networks and allowing access to the device tokenized cards to all PhonePe PG merchants.
