Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Ben Davies has been "carrying a knock" for a little while but has managed to play through it. The Wales international missed out completely on the squad to take on Ipswich Town over the weekend and he will once again be absent for Wednesday's home encounter against Manchester City.
Issuing an injury update ahead of the City game, and now will have a seven-day break before their next fixture away at AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League. Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday's showdown against Pep Guardiola's side, provided a further update to football.london on current injury status.
"No, he’s been carrying a knock for a little while and to be fair he’s played through it," said the Australian. "But I’ve said before this is a key period and I want as many players in the best possible condition and after this game we have a seven-day break which leads into Europe, league, Europe, league and those games are massive for us.

"I don’t see need to push. He hasn’t re-injured. He’s just been carrying something that I don’t want to push at the moment."
On a day when Davies missed out at Ipswich, also did likewise despite recently returning to first-team training at Hotspur Way. and also outlined why he was not included at Portman Road.
"No he was only really available for the weekend, but because of make-up of squad, I put in Sergio Reguilon as another defender," Postecoglou told football.london. "He has trained and is available for tomorrow."
