Anandanathan said that Mahakumbh will help India achieve 6.5 percent GDP increase in the financial year 2024-25. He said that Kumbh Mela will contribute significantly in promoting expenses.

Especially the March quarter will play an important role. According to government data, India's economic increase has reached 6.2 percent in the third quarter of FY 2025. It was more than 5.6 percent in the last quarter. This increase has been due to improvement in rural consumption and more expenditure policy of the government.

This was the budget

The budget of Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj was about Rs 12,670 crore. It included both state and central expenses. Crores of people attended Mahakumbh. This has seen a huge increase in business. The administration had speculated that about 40 crore people would come to the Mahakumbh. This number was equal to a quarter of India's population. The purchase during this period could have traded about 2 lakh crore rupees. However, more than the government's estimate, more than 63 crore people have joined Mahakumbh.

Work to strengthen relationships too

Praveen Gandhiwal, general secretary of the business expert and the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), said that the Mahakumbh has increased the economic activity a lot. Its estimated size can reach Rs 3 lakh crore. This makes Mahakumbh one of the largest economic events in India. Gandhiwal said that this event has strengthened the relationship between religion and business.

During the Mahakumbh, different business areas have seen an increase. This includes hotels, food, travel and religious materials. Apart from this, there has been a big increase in handicrafts, textiles, health, art and media areas. The Uttar Pradesh government spent Rs 7500 crore for infrastructure improvement in Prayagraj. In this, Rs 1500 crore was for the arrangement of Mahakumbh.
