Homebase has announced 16 "new and exclusive" garden centres will be opening across the UK over the coming weeks.

A total of 24 have already officially opened inside The Range superstores, and more are due to follow later this month and in April. The openings come after the retailer at the end of last year, blaming a decline in consumer confidence and spending post-pandemic for its collapse. Homebase called in administrators in November 2024 and later struck a deal with retail group CDS - which owns The Range - which saved some stores.

CDS snapped up 70 Homebase stores as part of the deal, saving around 1,600 jobs, and B&Q also agreed to take control of five branches. The former Homebase sites in Altrincham, Basingstoke, Biggleswade, Leamington Spa and Worcester are now expected to be converted into B&Q stores this spring.

It was also announced this month that four former Homebase stores are to be transformed into Wickes, after the home improvement retailer acquired the leases as part of its ongoing store opening and refit programme.

These four stores, based in Dunfermline, Bury St Edmunds, Leeds Moor Allerton and Northampton, will reopen later in the year under the Wickes brand, serving catchment areas that don't currently benefit from a store.

But as part of its ongoing openings inside The Range superstores, Homebase has confirmed 16 more of its garden centres will officially be opening in the coming weeks. A total of five Homebase garden centres will open in March, followed by a further 11 in April. The openings follow the 24 Garden centres by Homebase that have already opened inside The Range superstores across the UK.

In a post on Facebook, Homebase said: "24 brand-new & exclusive 'Garden Centres by Homebase' have officially opened inside The Range superstores across the UK!
