While defending 155, Dhoni was seen frustrated with the fielding efforts of the team. The rare show of visible frustration came after a reckless overthrow by 20-year-old Shaik Rasheed, which gifted an extra run to Ishan Kishan during the final ball of the eighth over.
Rasheed, who was positioned at extra cover, collected the ball cleanly and launched a throw at the non-striker’s end despite no one backing up.

Chennai Super Kings suffered their first-ever loss to SRH at home on Friday. Batting first in a must-win game, CSK were bowled out for 154 in 19.5 overs, with Harshal Patel dismantling their line-up with figures of 4 for 28.
CSK debutant Dewald Brevis scored 25-ball 42, while Ayush Mhatre impressed with 19-ball 30. The team was placed well at 114/4 in the 13th over, before losing the momentum. Once Brevis got out, the lower middle order struggled to add quick runs, managing only 154. Notably, the opener Rasheed got out for a duck.

Despite the dew and losing early wickets, SRH chased down the target in 18.4 overs, with Ishan Kishan scoring 44, supported by Kamindu Mendis (32*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (19*).
Rasheed’s mistake may have been a small moment, but it symbolised a larger issue for CSK this season. With seven losses in nine games, Chennai’s playoff hopes now rest on a mathematical miracle.
Their next match is against Punjab Kings on April 30 at the Chepauk Stadium, a team that has defeated CSK earlier in the tournament.
