Washington [US], April 26: The trailer for the new dark comedy series “Sirens,” which stars Meghann Fahy, Julianne Moore, and Milly Alcock, was released by the show’s creators on Netflix.
According to the teaser, Devon, portrayed by Meghann Fahy, is desperate to save her sister Simone (played by Milly Alcock) from what she perceives to be a “creepy relationship” between Simone and her socialite employer Michaela “Kiki” Kell (played by Moore). When Devon finds out that their father, portrayed by Bill Camp, has dementia and is upset that Simone could only bother to send a fruit basket, the tension rises at Kiki’s estate, according to Deadline.
The five-episode limited series, which is based on Molly Smith Metzler’s play Elemeno Pea, was created by the Emmy-nominated writer and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler (Maid) and executive produced by LuckyChap.
According to the logline, “Devon has determined that it’s time for an intervention because Michaela’s cult-like lifestyle of luxury is like a drug to Simone.” According to the publication, Devon is unaware of how strong Michaela would be when she finds her sister to ask, “WTF?”
Devon, the show’s main character, believes her sister Simone has an unsettling connection with her new employer, the mysterious socialite Michaela Kell.
Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention since Simone finds Michaela’s cult-like lifestyle of luxury to be like a narcotic. Devon doesn’t realize what a strong opponent Michaela would be until she finds her sister to ask, “WTF?”
Fahy portrays Devon DeWitt, a character in her community who is in decline. She is witty, strong, and passionately protective, particularly of Simone, her younger sister, who Alcock portrays. Simone, who is witty and endearing, has struck gold as a billionaire’s personal assistant.
Moore portrays Michaela Kell, the wife of millionaire Peter Kell and a prominent figure in island high society as an animal champion and philanthropist. She seemed to be too close to Simone, her helper, for comfort.
Glenn Howerton (Ethan Corbin III), Felix Solis (Jose), and Kevin Bacon (Peter Kell) are all featured in the limited series.
Together with Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie for LuckyChap, Metzler is an executive producer for Quiet Coyote in addition to being the showrunner and writer. According to Deadline, the first two episodes are directed by Watchmen’s Nicole Kassell, an Emmy candidate.
