Karkala: An auto-rickshaw and a bus collided on the morning of June 12 on the Karkala–Padubidri highway near Adve Kanajar Katte Junction, resulting in one death and serious injuries to two others.

According to initial reports, a private express bus heading from Mangaluru to Karkala collided with an auto-rickshaw near the junction.

The impact was severe, leading to the death of one of the rickshaw occupants on the spot, while two others sustained critical injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Pratap, a migrant labourer from North India. The rickshaw driver was also critically injured in the mishap. Local residents rushed the injured to a nearby hospital immediately after the incident.
