They looked at the cost of all-day parking, ice cream, fish and chips and deckchair rental to find out which resort offers the best value this summer.



As reported by the , Swansea came out at the top of the list. Parking for a day costs just £3 while an ice cream is £1.65 and a portion of fish and chips is, on average, just over £7.


This brings the total cost of a day out in Wales' second city to £16.71. In contrast, the most expensive place to visit is Brighton where the same goods will cost £38.20.


Swansea also boasts a beautiful coastline which includes Pwll Du Bay. The beach is one of the least accessible in the city, with only three footpaths leading to it.


The stunning beach features a unique bank of thousands of pebbles and is encircled by limestone cliffs. It is set within a secluded and scenic location which makes it perfect for holidaymakers who are after some privacy.


Meanwhile, the Three Cliffs Bay is another popular choice for holidaymakers. Nestled on the Gower Peninsula, a short drive from Swansea, the serene pay offers golden sands and lush greenery.


Visit Wales hails Three Cliffs Bay as one of Gower's most snapped locations. However, the website warns: "Stay safe, this is one of our most beautiful beaches, but nature can be wild too - watch out for strong tides and currents at all times."


The bay has become quite the draw for visitors, earning a stellar five-star rating on Tripadvisor. One visitor wrote: "We parked in the Gower Heritage Centre which had a lovely woodland walk down to the beach.


"It's impressive, one minute you're walking through magical-looking woodland with weaving streams, and the next you're on an open expansive beach. There's a pretty walk up to the castle which has amazing views over the beach too."
