Delhi Weather: How will the weather be in Delhi today?
After several days of scorching heat, the national capital Delhi is likely to get gradual relief from heat wave conditions. IMD has predicted thunderstorms and rain. According to IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be around 42 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature will be 30 to 31 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky and thunderstorms and rain during the day, which is likely to provide some relief from the scorching heat.
Mumbai Weather: How will the weather be in Mumbai today?
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued new weather alerts for Mumbai, Thane and adjoining areas, warning of heavy to very heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds over the weekend (Saturday-Sunday). According to the IMD, Mumbai and Thane will remain under yellow alert till June 15 due to the re-activation of monsoon. During this period, heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places.
Monsoon Alert: Monsoon will hit North-West India including Punjab-Uttarakhand by June 25
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), this year the monsoon may arrive in northwest India earlier than usual. The entire region, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, will start receiving rain by June 25. Monsoon has already started in South India, it reached Kerala between May 24 and 25, which was 8 days earlier than last year. However, the monsoon activity seems to be a little slow at this time, but it has gained momentum again from around June 11.
The normal date of arrival of monsoon in Delhi is around June 30. The southwest monsoon is likely to advance into the remaining parts of central and eastern India as well as some areas of northwest India between June 12 and 18. It is expected to reach most parts of northwest India, including Delhi, between June 19 and 25.
Heavy to very heavy rains are occurring in many parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Konkan and Maharashtra. The IMD has also said that the second phase of the monsoon is expected to spread over eastern India, bringing rain to West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh within the next week.
