Emotional Father's Day Message

Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message for his son Zoraver on Father's Day, despite being estranged from him for nearly two years.

A Touching Video Message

In a video showcasing moments spent with Zoraver, Dhawan expressed, "Happy Father’s Day to me. Always there for you Zoraver, waiting with lots of love for you."

Separation Following Divorce

Dhawan's marriage to Ayesha Mukherjee ended in October 2023 after a challenging relationship. The Delhi family court granted the divorce on the grounds of cruelty.

Since their separation, Dhawan has not seen his son for two years and has been unable to communicate with him for the past year, stating he has been "blocked from everywhere."

Insights into Dhawan's Marriage

Dhawan and Ayesha met through social media and married in 2012, despite a significant age difference and Ayesha's previous marriage. They welcomed Zoraver in 2014.

However, their relationship faced challenges, particularly regarding living arrangements, as Dhawan wished for Ayesha to settle in India, while she wanted properties in her name in Australia. These issues led to ongoing conflicts and their eventual divorce, with the court noting Ayesha's behavior caused Dhawan significant distress.

Spiritual Connection Despite Distance

In a previous interview, Dhawan shared, "It’s been two years since I saw my son. It’s been a year since we talked. Because I’m blocked from everywhere. Of course, it’s difficult. But you learn to live with it... I talk to him spiritually. I feel like I’m talking to my son every day. I’m hugging him."

His Father's Day post is part of a series of emotional messages reflecting his deep love and longing for Zoraver.

Dhawan's Career Transition

After retiring from international and domestic cricket in August 2024, Dhawan has sought new opportunities, joining the Karnali Yaks after being released by the IPL franchise Punjab Kings ahead of the 2025 mega auction.

Throughout his career, Dhawan has been known for his graceful batting style and composed nature, achieving remarkable statistics across formats:
