Summary: Kareena Kapoor’s favorite dinner, ghee khichdi for weight loss and better sleep

Kareena Kapoor’s favorite healthy dinner is desi khichdi, which is easy to digest, gluten-free and helps in weight loss.

Inspired by Rujuta Divekar’s advice, vegetables and one teaspoon of ghee khichdi is a nutrition powerhouse for women after the age of 40.

Kareena Secret Food: Recently at a wellness event with nutritionist Rujuta Divekar, Kareena Kapoor told about her favorite dinner. You may be surprised to know that this is not a fancy dish. This is our old and reliable khichdi, that too with a spoon of ghee. Kareena admitted that if Khichdi is not included in her diet plan, then she starts getting restless and sleep does not come properly. Kareena loves Khichdi so much that she swears this food.

Kareena has always been known for fitness. She used to be very fat in childhood but she had lost all her extra weight before appearing in films. The story of her weight loss is the same as Sonakshi Sinha was a decade ago and in today’s era is Sara Ali Khan. At this stage of age, Kareena says, this simple comfort food is actually a nutrition powerhouse, especially for women who have crossed the age of 40. I remember once I was talking to Rujuta, when I told them that I want to eat khichdi every night. His answer was – “Brilliant! This is the best dinner for anyone.”

First of all, it is easy to digest and naturally gluten-free. It is helpful for those who have problems of blotting or digestion. If you keep its quantity and proportion correct, then it can be rich in nutrients. But there are some tips and tricks that can make your khichdi even more nutritious and adapted to weight loss.

The most important thing -The ratio of your lentils and rice should be such that the lentils are high, so that it is protein-rich and the carbs are low. In this, if you add vegetables like carrots, beans, peas, cauliflower, gourd, spinach and even sweet potato, then it becomes a balanced, fiber -rich dinner. Dinner that helps to improve metabolism, fertility and even menopause symptoms.

Do not cook khichdi in ghee. Instead, add one teaspoon of ghee on top before eating. It helps in digestion and increases the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, without smooth the dish. If you get bored, change things. Try different pulses or use millets (millet etc.) or oats instead of rice. In this way your body finds various nutrients and food does not seem boring. Mostly not like eating “healthy”, khichdi really fills the stomach, without lethargy. It is light, satisfactory and also helps in sleep… and Kareena herself believes all these things.

So next time you think what to eat at dinner, instead of ordering from outside, follow the desi path. Your 40 cross body (and brain) will be thankful to you for this.
