Over the years, several teams have showcased immense talent throughout tournaments and ultimately lifted the coveted trophy. However, some teams, despite coming close, fell short at the final hurdle, earning the label of 'chokers' for repeatedly failing in crucial moments, whether in ICC events or T20 leagues. In recent years, though, a few of the teams have finally broken the curse. Here, let us take a look at four teams that have broke the 'chokers' tag and triumphed in the last five years.

India endured a challenging phase when it came to clinching major ICC titles. The trophy cabinet held iconic wins, the 1983 and 2011 ODI World Cups, the 2007 T20 World Cup, and the 2002 and 2013 Champions Trophies, but they repeatedly stumbled at the final hurdle in recent years. The men in blue had heartbreaking losses in the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup, the 2021 and 2023 World Test Championships, the 2017 Champions Trophy, and the 2014 T20 World Cup.

But broke the jinx by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies, defeating South Africa in a thrilling final. They followed it up with another triumph in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy to end their title drought.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed several first-time champions and franchises clinching multiple titles over the years. However, the (RCB), a team that has been part of the tournament since its inception in 2008, had long remained without a title.

They reached the finals three times and consistently making it to the playoffs, but could not able to touch the prestigious title.
