The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India Under-19 team for the tour of Australia. The tour will be held in September 2025, in which the Indian youth team will play three ODIs and two multi-day matches.
14 -year -old Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the team has been retained due to his spectacular performance on England tour. At the same time, Ayush Mhatre has been given the captaincy of the team once again. He also led on the tour of England and under his captaincy, India won the ODI series 3–2, while the Test series was drawn.
India’s Under-19 team will leave for Australia on 21 September. The series will start from September 2 and the first multi-day match will be played in McKay. The three ODIs will be held between 30 September to 3 October, while the second multi-day match will start from October 7, which will be played again in McKay.
Many players of England tour have been maintained in the team. These include Rahul Kumar, Harvansh Singh, RS Ambareesh, Kanishka Chauhan, Henil Patel, D. Deepesh, Anmoljit Singh and Naman Pushpak. With the experience and confidence of these players, the team expects a better performance in Australia.
All three will be held in Norths compared to ODIs while multi-day matches will be held in McKay. Balance and continuity have been given priority in team selection, so that young players can get better opportunities to perform abroad.
