A shocking case of medical negligence has emerged from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, where a woman has alleged that a piece of cloth was left inside her stomach during a delivery operation at a local nursing home.

The woman, a resident of Gulmohar Enclave in Ghaziabad, underwent a C-section at the nursing home in the first week of July. However, just days after the procedure, her health began to deteriorate. She started experiencing severe abdominal pain, fever, and body aches.

Initially, her symptoms were dismissed as common post-delivery effects. But as her condition worsened over the next 36 days, her family grew concerned.

Her husband, Chirag Kataria, sought medical help and had her undergo an ultrasound on July 10, followed by a CT scan on July 11. To their shock, the reports revealed a foreign object in her stomach, identified as a piece of surgical cloth. She was rushed in for another operation, during which the cloth was successfully removed. Following the procedure, her condition began to improve.

Chirag has since filed a formal complaint with the Police Commissioner and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Ghaziabad, alleging gross negligence by the doctor and the nursing home. The incident has raised serious questions about safety protocols and accountability in private healthcare facilities.
