Rajasthan Google Maps Chittorgarh Accident: A painful example of how fatal can be seen to be blindly on modern technology, has been seen in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Here, walking on the path mentioned by Google Map became a time for a family. The Google Map showed a van full of nine people to a broken culvert for three years, after which the van was swept away in the Banas river. Two women and a girl died in this horrific accident, while another girl is still missing.

This heartbreaking incident took place at Somi-Uparra Pulia in Kapasan in Chittorgarh at around 1 pm on Tuesday. A family from Bhupalsagar was returning from Bhilwara. According to the locals, it was told that they had warned the driver to be filled with water on the way, but the driver thought it better to rely on Google Map. Due to darkness, the driver could not detect the broken culvert and the car fell directly into the rapid currents of the river, after which the van was washed away by about 300 meters away.

5 lives left with the help of the driver and the help of villagers

Soon after the accident, driver Madanlal did not lose courage. He broke the glass of the van and somehow climbed on the roof of the car. After this, he pulled five more people one by one to the roof, which could save his life. Meanwhile, the local villagers reached the spot after hearing the screams and started working in rescue work. With their help, five people could be evacuated safely. During the rescue operation on Wednesday morning, the bodies of two women and a girl were recovered from the river, while the search for a girl is still going on.

Is it right to blindly trust Google map?

This accident highlights the difference between the trust of technology and the ground reality. Google map is often known to show the smallest and fastest route, but does not give any warnings about the protecting the path, such as the road breakdown or water filled. Especially on rural and unknown paths, where there can be a problem of network and updates, it can prove to be dangerous to depend on Google map. This incident is a lesson that technology makes our path easier, but the advice of local people should not be ignored at night or unknown areas.
