The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued an important advisory on February 16, appealing to students, parents and school administration to be cautious of fake news and rumors ahead of class 10th and 12th board examinations. Board examinations are going to start from 17th February 2026. In such a situation, this advice has been issued at a time when there is naturally an atmosphere of tension and curiosity among the students regarding the examination.

What did CBSE say in its statement?

CBSE said in its statement that in the last few years, cases of spreading wrong and misleading information through social media by some anti-social elements had come to light. These rumors included false claims such as question papers being leaked or alleged board exam question papers being available. Such misinformation not only confuses students and parents, but also has a negative impact on students’ morale and their exam preparation.

The board clarified that extensive and robust security arrangements have been implemented to keep the examination process secure, transparent and fair. All necessary protocols are being strictly followed to maintain the confidentiality of the question papers and to conduct the examination smoothly. Also, strict action will be taken under the rules against those who create any kind of obstruction in the examination process or spread wrong information.

CBSE has advised all concerned to rely only on information received from official sources. For correct and authentic information, students and parents can contact CBSE’s official website, regional offices or headquarters in New Delhi. The board also said that it is extremely important to avoid spreading unconfirmed news, as it creates unnecessary tension and confusion.

CBSE appealed

Apart from this, CBSE has also appealed to the parents and teachers for cooperation, so that they keep the students away from rumors and help them focus only on studies and exam preparation. The board assured that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure fairness and security of the examination.

This initiative of CBSE is in the interest of the students so that they can appear in their board examinations with confidence and mental peace without being influenced by any kind of misinformation and perform better.
