Real Madrid star Raul Asencio was taken off on a stretcher, wearing a neck brace following a heavy collision with Eduardo Camavinga. The Spanish defender went up for a header, with his teammate close by. The pair collided in mid-air and heavily fell to the floor.
Both players hit the ground hard, with Real Madrid medical staff being beckoned onto the pitch by the referee. Asencio appeared to come off worse as he quickly clutched his chest.
Club doctors immediately started giving him treatment, while a neck brace was applied. Asencio was carried off of the pitch after a lengthy period of treatment to be replaced by fellow defender David Alaba.
Asencio, 23, is a product of the Real Madrid academy and has gone on to make 75 appearances for the Spanish giants. He had been a key player this season, having appeared on 28 occasions throughout the campaign and scored twice.

Real Madrid will hope that he has not picked up a serious problem as they aim to secure silverware under Alvaro Arbeloa this season. Real currently sit second in the La Liga table but just one point behind fierce rivals Barcelona.
They could now be drawn to face either Manchester City or Sporting in the last-16 of the Champions League. However, City could also be reunited with Bodo/Glimt, having already lost to the Norwegian side 3-1 in the league stage of the competition.
