Read, Digital Desk : A shocking development has taken place again in Manipur. Bodies of the six Naga men, who had gone missing since May 13 were brought to the Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) mortuary in Imphal early on Thursday morning under heavy security arrangements.
Protest was triggered with the recovery of six bodies and the headquarters of Naga People’s Front (NPF) Manipur located in Liangmai Taphau area was torched.
The headquarters building of NPF is allegedly set afire over kidnapping of six people from Leilon Waiphei village on May 13, 2026. More details awaited.
Six bodies found, Violence erupts in Manipur
Liangmai Naga Council president Timothy Vijunnamei while speaking to reporters stated that his community was absolutely shocked after recovering the body.
Timothy Vizunamei said “Yes, we have just recovered the bodies of six persons who were abducted on May 13 and today, we found them dead. We are absolutely shocked and saddened.
“The bodies are in JNIMS mortuary, but we have not been able to know whom they belong to, whether it is our six people. We are waiting to recognize faces,” Vijunnamei said.
