Not every love story needs huge drama to convey its message to the audience. ‘Cocktail 2’ movie It is effective for exactly this reason, because it keeps things simple and easy. The film, which looks at relationships from a three-dimensional perspective, gives its characters a chance to live freely on screen. Navrastra has given this movie 3.5 stars.
first’cocktail‘ The film was known for its style, glamor and high-energy, but this film takes a quieter and deeper path. It bears no direct relation to the first film in terms of story and tone. Instead, the film creates a different world, more private, realistic and closer to the relationships of today’s generation.
Cocktail 2 Certificate: Kriti Sanon in an ‘A’ rated film for the first time in her 12-year career; ‘Cocktail 2’ in discussion
How is the story of the film?
The story of the film revolves around Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), Elli (Kriti Sanon) and Dia (Rashmika Mandana). Although these three are clear on the emotional level, they are extremely confused in terms of decisions. There is love here, but also a hesitation; There is closeness, but also confusion. The real core of the film is woven around this emotional tension. The biggest feature of this movie is that everything about it feels so familiar and real. These characters are not like any big screen glamorous heroes but ordinary people like us, who don’t always speak the right words, struggle to understand our emotions and sometimes realize the truth too late. Tarun Jain’s screenplay and Luv Ranjan’s story are based on this honesty. The dialogues seem very natural.
Excellent acting and direction
Shahid Kapoor has tied the entire film in one thread with his amazing performance. Without showing emotion, he conveys a lot through his silence and gestures. One of his emotional breakdown scenes and the monologue at the end of the film will be remembered for a long time. Rashmika Mandana brings a tenderness and sensitivity to the role of Diya, which complements the atmosphere of the film. Her performance does not seem artificial anywhere.
On the other hand, Kriti Sanon looks the most balanced of the three actors. She portrays her role with great poise and confidence, which provides a profound balance to the emotional turmoil of the story. Director Homi Adjania presents the story without any unnecessary drama and this restraint is the biggest strength of the film.

How is the technical side and the music?
Visually, the film is very handsome. The beautiful locations of Sicily are not just for show, they become part of the story. Cinematographer Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran has captured this scene wonderfully on camera. Anaita Shroff Adjania’s curated costume style is modern and suits the character’s personality. Pritam’s music blends into the flow of the story and doesn’t try to grab separate attention. Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics are simple and directly touching, while Akshara Prabhakar’s music keeps the rhythm of the film going.
Why should the audience watch the film?
In short, ‘Cocktail 2’ is about understanding yourself, your partner and the emotional distance between two people. It perfectly shows how today’s relationships are changing due to insecurity, freedom and the influence of social media.
Although at some points the story feels like it should have been deeper, the film never lets go of its emotional grip. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, this film does not define love, but shows how complex and imperfect love can be. It is this sense of simplicity that makes the film special.
Conclusion: This movie leaves a beautiful and slow impression on the mind of the audience without any hype. This is definitely a must watch movie to experience the depth of relationships.
