NEW IRCTC Website: There is a big news for the railway passengers. Indian Railways New on 15th July IRCTC Launching a beta version of the website. This new website has been made faster, simpler and more user-friendly, which will reduce the hassle of booking tickets for passengers. Let’s learn more about this technology news. Ahead of the launch, IRCTC and Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) officials demonstrated the new website to students of Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He also took suggestions from the students, so that necessary improvements could be made to the website before making it available to travelers.
In fact, a few weeks ago these same students raised the issue of errors in the current IRCTC website with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. He explained that repeated CAPTCHAs, complicated interface and slow process in ticket booking are major problems for passengers. The Railway Minister had promised to launch the revised version of the website by July 15.
According to railway officials, the new website is currently being integrated with the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) of Indian Railways. As the reservation system is also undergoing major changes, a completely revamped version of the website will be available in the next few months.

One of the biggest features of the new IRCTC website is its increased functionality. According to reports, the current system can book approximately 32,000 tickets per minute, while the new system can book more than 1,50,000 tickets per minute. This will significantly reduce the load on the website during rush hours, especially during instant ticket bookings.
Not only ticket booking, but also the ticket search process will be much faster than before. While the current capacity is approximately 400,000 inquiries per minute, the new system will be able to handle more than 40 lakh inquiries per minute.
Unnecessary pop-ups, highlighted graphics and frequent CAPTCHA prompts have been largely removed from the new website. This will save time, especially when booking instant tickets, and make the process easier. Another major change is that passengers will no longer need to check seat availability separately for Sleeper, 3AC, 2AC or other categories. Overall, the Railways claims that the new IRCTC website will provide a faster, easier and more reliable ticket booking experience.
