Recently, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor’s dietitian Rujuta Diwekar has shared the recipe of a special soup, which is helpful in making hair strong and thick. Hair fall is a common problem during the rainy season, and Rujuta has revealed a home remedy to deal with this problem. He has advised to drink horse gram soup.
Horse gram is a type of pulse, which is called ‘horse gram’ in English. This lentil is an important source of energy and is rich in protein. It can be easily found at home. It contains good amount of iron, calcium and fiber, which is beneficial not only for hair but also for overall health. Let us know how this soup can be prepared.
To make soup, first soak horse gram lentils overnight. Then cook it in a pressure cooker. After cooking, add chilli and garlic paste to it. After this apply tempering of cumin seeds. If one does not like garlic, one can use black pepper and hing. Rujuta suggests that you consume this soup instead of your cup of coffee. It contains rich amounts of iron and calcium, which keeps the hair strong. This lentil is also mentioned in Ayurveda, especially when women give birth to a child, then they are advised to eat it.
Rujuta Diwekar said that most of the people use shampoo to wash hair, but you can also use reetha. It is a natural cleanser, which was used to wash hair. For this, soak reetha overnight. Reetha contains foam, which cleans the hair. If you want, you can wash your hair with reetha water after applying shampoo. This will refresh your hair and increase density.
Apart from this, consume seasonal fruits. Rujuta told that to prevent hair fall, consume dates. Dates contain vitamins, minerals and polyphenols. Stress is also a major cause of hair loss, so eat foods that are rich in antioxidants. These help in reducing oxidative stress.
