Advocate Prashant Bhushan, representing the farmers, questioned the trial process before the Supreme Court. He accused the prosecution of failing to present key witnesses, including eyewitnesses to the incident. Justice Surya Kant responded that any concerns about the trial process should first be raised with the relevant trial court, and then the issue should be brought to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court bench declined to intervene on the matter at this stage.
