Indian athletes continue to dominate the Commonwealth Games 2026. India won a record seven gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. Judo and para-athletes also made history. Saturday was a memorable day for India. On the 10th day of the Games, India won a total of 39 medals. This includes 13 gold, 17 silver, and 9 bronze medals.
India has risen to fourth place in the standings. Australia has 61 gold medals, while England is second and Canada third. Initially, India was ranked 10th, but seven gold medals in boxing have dramatically improved India’s ranking. When Indian boxers entered the ring, their opponents didn’t have a chance to rise.
Women boxers made a splash. Jasmine Lamboria (57 kg), Preeti Pawar (54 kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (51 kg), Arundhati Chaudhary (70 kg), and Priya Ghanghas (60 kg) won gold medals. India won seven gold medals in boxing alone.
Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain (75 kg) settled for a silver medal. In the men’s category, Sachin Siwach (60 kg) and Ankush (70 kg) won gold medals. Jadumani Singh (55 kg) and Narendra Berwal (+90 kg) won silver medals.
India’s impressive run in judo continued. Unnati Sharma won the bronze medal in the women’s 63 kg category, India’s fourth medal in judo. Harsh Singh (men’s 60 kg) and Asmita Dey (women’s 48 kg) made history by winning gold medals. Yamini Maurya won the silver medal in the 57 kg category.
Soman Rana won the gold medal in the para-spur shot put. Praveen Chitravel won the silver medal in the triple jump, and Selva Prabhu won the bronze medal. Gulvir Singh set a new record by winning the bronze medal in the 5000 meters, becoming the first Indian athlete to win two medals in the same Games. Sunday is the last day of the Games. India has a good chance of winning more medals.
