Lucknow. There’s news of significant relief for farmers and agricultural laborer families in Uttar Pradesh. The state government is implementing a scholarship scheme to ensure that meritorious children from farming families don’t face financial difficulties as a barrier to their education. Under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Scholarship Scheme, eligible students are provided financial assistance to continue their studies.
The aim of this scheme is to encourage promising children from farmer and agricultural laborer families to pursue higher education. Significantly, the amount of assistance provided under the scheme has been increased. Eligible students are now eligible to receive a scholarship of up to ₹5,000 per month.
Earlier, ₹3000 was available, now the assistance amount has increased.
Under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Scholarship Scheme, students were previously provided financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month. Now, the assistance amount has been increased by Rs 2,000. This means that eligible students can receive up to Rs 5,000 per month.
This amount is not given to farmers for farming, but rather to help their children continue their education. The government is trying to ensure that no talented student has to abandon their studies due to poor financial circumstances.
Which students can get the benefit?
Not every student automatically benefits from this scheme. The government has established eligibility criteria. The student’s parents must be farmers or registered agricultural laborers. The student must also be a native of Uttar Pradesh.
A student’s academic record must also meet established standards. For undergraduate scholarships, a minimum of 70 percent marks in 12th grade from the UP Board is required, and 85 percent marks for students from other boards. For postgraduate scholarships, a minimum of 70 percent marks in undergraduate studies is required.
How to apply for the scheme
Eligible students can fill out the application form to benefit from the scheme, following the prescribed application process. Application forms can be obtained from the administrative office of the respective college or institute, or from the designated market committee office. After accurately completing all the required information, the required certificates and educational documents must be attached. The application is then verified by the principal or nodal officer of the respective school or college.
After verification, the application must be submitted to the relevant regional office or designated scholarship counter. After submitting the application, it is important to keep the receipt or acknowledgment safely so that you don’t have any trouble checking your application status in the future.
