Recently, the issue of ruckus created by the luxury vehicles included in the convoy of Atiq Ahmed's son at a busy toll plaza located on the National Highway has once again come into limelight. According to the toll employees, more than a dozen vehicles of Atiq's son's convoy not only flatly refused to pay the toll tax, but when they refused, they abused the employees, assaulted them and forcibly tried to take out the vehicles by breaking the barrier. According to the eyewitness employees and lane operators posted at the toll plaza, on the evening of the day of the incident, several black and heavy SUVs moved rapidly towards the toll lane, one after the other. When the toll barrier was lowered in front of the first vehicle and the employee requested to pay the toll tax as per rules or show a valid pass, the bouncers and bullies in the vehicle started shouting the name of Atiq Ahmed's son. The employees said that when they refused to lift the barrier without paying the tax citing the system, more than a dozen youths also got down from other vehicles parked behind the convoy. They surrounded the toll booth and started threatening the employees to lift the barrier immediately. According to the information given by the toll employees who scuffled with the employees, broke the barrier and fled from the spot, the dispute escalated so much that some angry youths included in the convoy forcibly opened the door of the toll cabin and tried to drag the lane operator present there by the collar. When the toll security guards tried to mediate and calm down the matter, they too were manhandled and pushed. After this, the bullies forcibly lifted the toll barrier aside and one after the other, took all their vehicles across the toll plaza at high speed. The entire incident was captured in the high quality CCTV cameras installed there, in which it can be clearly seen how the convoy of vehicles was taken out flouting the rules and regulations. On the basis of CCTV footage, police investigation and strict legal action, based on the complaint of toll plaza manager, an FIR has been registered in the local police station against Atiq's son and his unknown associates under named and unknown sections. The police have started the process of tracing the vehicle numbers by taking possession of the footage of all the CCTV cameras installed in the toll complex. Police officials say that the faces clearly visible in the CCTV footage are being identified and no culprit will be spared. Under the 'zero tolerance' policy issued against criminals and mafia in Uttar Pradesh, strictest action will be taken against those who commit such hooliganism.
