Near Shirwal on the Pune-Satara highway, at around 1 am, a speeding car first crossed the divider and then the opposite lane and collided with an Eicher truck coming from the front.

In this accident, 4 youths from Talegaon Dabhade and Maval area died on the spot, while two people were seriously injured. The deceased include Vedant Waringe, Sonling Thakur, Aditya Garud and Nikhil Raut.

According to the police, the youth who was the victim of the accident was going from Pune to Satara by car. The driver of the car suddenly lost control at around 1 o’clock in the night in front of Hotel Shivalay located in Shirwal.

The car first hit the divider. After this, while crossing the divider, the car went into the opposite lane and collided heavily with the Eicher truck coming from the front. The accident was so severe that the car was completely damaged.

The doors of the car had to be cut to take out the passengers trapped in it. After the accident, hearing the loud noise, local citizens reached the spot and informed the police.

As soon as the information was received, the Highway Police reached the spot. With the help of cranes, the accident vehicles were removed from the road and the traffic on the highway was smoothened. Both the seriously injured people have been admitted to the hospital for immediate treatment.
