This is exactly why good things do not last. A C7-generation Chevrolet Corvette finished in a full Cars-style Lightning McQueen-inspired livery was among three vehicles impounded on Monday after police moved against a large car meet that, according to authorities, descended into chaos.

As per a Facebook post by the Elk Grove Police Department, what started as a gathering of enthusiasts quickly turned into a fight. The disturbance forced businesses in the shopping centre to shut temporarily. Police were not taken by surprise by the event; authorities said officers were already carrying out a targeted traffic enforcement operation focused on the meet-up. That makes the alleged conduct of some attendees appear even more baffling, as they likely knew police were already present at the scene.

By the end of the night, officers had carried out 121 traffic stops, issued 105 citations, and towed away three vehicles. The most noticeable of them was the brightly wrapped Corvette styled after Pixar’s well-known race car. According to police, the driver ended up losing the car to a tow truck after deciding to perform a burnout during the event. Unfortunately, the truck that took away the Corvette did not look anything like Tow Mater.

As many enthusiasts know all too well, it often takes only a handful of drivers making bad choices to ruin the atmosphere for everyone else who is simply trying to enjoy a lawful and pleasant time at a car meet. In the first film, Lightning McQueen began as a self-centred hotshot interested only in winning, but by the end he learned that community, friendship, and looking out for others mattered much more. Hopefully, the driver of this Corvette takes away a similar lesson.
