Tezzbuzz Desk- Amid the ongoing deadlock in Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla offering to discuss the issue to NEET exam and student movement. Amit Shah said that the government is ready to discuss the issue and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha can decide the time for the discussion after talking to the opposition.

The Home Minister said in his letter that the government has already accepted the demand of the opposition. He says that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had conveyed the government's consent to discuss the issue of NEET exam in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting.

'From today onwards, have a discussion at whatever time you deem appropriate'

Amit Shah requested the Speaker of the Lok Sabha to talk to the opposition and set aside as much time and hours as deemed appropriate for discussion with mutual consent. He said that he wants to participate in the discussion by being present in the House during the stipulated time. He also said to answer all the questions of the opposition.

Emphasizing on democratic dialogue in his letter, the Home Minister said that in a democracy, solutions emerge only through discussion and negotiation. He said that he has unwavering faith in democracy and democratic institutions and Parliament is for discussion and dialogue.

Also mentioned the discussion of FCRA bill

In his letter, Amit Shah also mentioned the discussion on the FCRA Amendment Bill in the current session of Parliament. He said that during the discussion on this bill to foreign contribution, no MP from the opposition expressed his views in the House regarding the NEET exam.

Despite this, the government is ready to discuss the issue of NEET. Amit Shah said that the government has nothing to hide in this matter and it is ready to answer the opposition's questions.

Opposition should decide whether discussion or ruckus is needed: Shah

Even outside the Parliament, Amit Shah targeted the opposition. He alleged that the opposition was disrupting the proceedings of Parliament instead of discussion.

Amit Shah said that now the opposition has to decide whether it wants discussion on this issue or wants to continue the ruckus in the House. He also said that there is a provision in parliamentary rules for detailed discussion instead of demanding a separate statement.

Deadlock continues on NEET issue

The government and the opposition are at loggerheads over student movements regarding the NEET exam and allegations of police action against protesters. The opposition is continuously demanding answers from the government and a response is also being demanded from Home Minister Amit Shah. Parliament proceedings have also been disrupted several times over this issue. The opposition demands that the government should give a detailed answer in the House regarding the student movement, examination- questions and the action taken against the protesters.

Now after Amit Shah's letter, the ball is in the court of the opposition and the Lok Sabha Speaker regarding discussion. If there is a consensus between the two parties, then there can be a detailed debate in the House on the issue of NEET and student movement.
