Chief Minister's visit to America canceled


New Delhi. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was to sign agreements with several leading educational institutions in the US. However, despite not getting permission from the Centre, he has instructed the delegation to continue the program in the US. The delegation will discuss MoUs with institutions like Harvard, MIT, Northeastern University and Virginia Tech.




Approval to travel to Britain


According to media reports, the Telangana government had sought permission from the Center to travel abroad on August 16. The Center gave permission to go to Britain, but the trip to America was not approved. The state government came to know about this when the official delegation had already reached Britain. The Chief Minister's Office is now trying to find out from the Ministry of External Affairs the reason for not getting permission to travel to America.



The need to think beyond political differences


After the cancellation of the tour, Revanth Reddy said that the future of the youth and the development of the state is more important than political differences. He said that when it comes to nation building and the future of the youth, one should think above politics.



Plan to make Hyderabad a global knowledge center


In London, Revanth Reddy will meet representatives of leading educational institutions like Oxford, Cambridge on Friday and Saturday. He said that through 'Telangana Rising', efforts are being made to connect the world's prestigious institutions with Telangana and Hyderabad. This will provide better opportunities for higher education, skills and training to the youth of the state.





Making Hyderabad an international level education centre.


The Chief Minister said that his dream is to make Hyderabad an international knowledge and education centre. According to him, Osmania University, Hyderabad Central University and JNTU have played an important role in creating better human resources for the city. The advent of institutions like IIT, ISB, IIIT and NALSAR has created a conducive environment for large companies and centers of global capabilities in Hyderabad.



Dream of world class education for Indian youth


Revanth Reddy said that he wants to put Hyderabad in the league of major cities of the world. Their aim is that common Indian youth also get the opportunity to obtain education and certification from world-class institutions like Harvard, Oxford, MIT, LBS and LSE. He said that while many leaders want to send their children abroad to study, his effort is to bring the world's best educational institutions to India.
