Mumbai Three people from Mumbra, who had gone for a swim in the creek near Reti Bunder on Mumbai-Nashik Highway in Thane district on Sunday, died due to drowning.



As soon as information about this incident was received, the team of Kalwa Police Station reached the spot and recovered all three bodies and sent them for post-mortem.


The police officer investigating the incident said that information about the incident was received at 3.08 pm. Three people living in Mumbra area had entered Retibandar Bay for swimming, but due to not being able to estimate the depth of the water correctly, all three started drowning.


As soon as information about this was received, teams of Fire Brigade, Thane Disaster Management Cell and Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) reached the spot.


The rescue team pulled out all three people from the creek at 4.20 pm and all three were taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, where doctors declared all three brought dead.


The deceased have been identified as Alam Syed and Rizwan Syed, both brothers, (42) and Sahil Polandas (30). Kalwa Police is conducting further legal process and investigation.
