Artificial intelligence is slowly finding its way into one of the most personal parts of a wedding ceremony, with a new survey suggesting that nearly half of people in committed relationships would accept some AI assistance while writing their wedding vows.
The survey, conducted by Use.AI among 7,400 married, engaged and committed adults, highlights a growing divide between using technology as a writing aid and allowing it to write the vows entirely.
According to the survey, 48% of respondents said they would not mind if their partner entered their memories, promises and ideas into an AI tool and used it to help with the structure or wording of their vows.
However, 54% said they would prefer imperfect or awkward vows written entirely by their partner over polished vows primarily created by AI. Another 41% said the vows would feel less personal if they discovered their partner had relied on AI to write them.
The survey also found that transparency could be crucial. About 61% of respondents said partners should be told if AI played a significant role in writing their vows.
For 34%, discovering substantial AI use only after the wedding would be more upsetting than being informed beforehand. Meanwhile, 19% said undisclosed heavy AI use could make them seriously reconsider their vows or relationship, while 11% considered it potentially a deal-breaker.
At the same time, 40% said disclosure would not be necessary if AI was used only for grammar, clarity or structure.
AI is already being used in other areas of wedding planning. A separate Zola report cited by Fast Company found that 54% of couples were using AI for some aspect of planning, including etiquette questions, timelines, to-do lists and emails.
Dedicated wedding platforms are also offering AI-powered tools for ceremony scripts, speeches and vows.
The trend suggests that couples may be willing to embrace AI as an editor or creative assistant, but when it comes to words spoken at the altar, authenticity and personal emotion still matter most. #AI #WeddingTrends #WeddingVows #ArtificialIntelligence #WeddingPlanning #Technology
