Indian cricket team will tour New Zealand in October-November. This time both the teams will play 5 ODI and 5 T20I series each along with two Test series. This Test series is very important for India in view of the World Test Championship (WTC) final. So, before the Test series against New Zealand, the Indian team will get a chance to adjust to the environment and understand the situation. Before the senior Indian team, the India 'A' team will take on the New Zealand 'A' team to play three four-day matches. These matches will be an important opportunity for India to prepare for the Test series.

India 'A' team will tour New Zealand

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced their domestic red ball cricket schedule on Tuesday, September 1. This includes three four-day matches between India 'A' and New Zealand 'A'. All the matches of this series will be played in Christchurch from 24 October.

New Zealand Cricket said in an official statement that the domestic red ball season will also see international action, with New Zealand 'A' playing three four-day matches against India 'A' in Christchurch from October 24. These matches will help the Indian players prepare for the fast and bouncy pitches of New Zealand. Many senior Indian players are also likely to play in this series.

When will the India-New Zealand series start?

The Indian team will tour New Zealand between October and November. Both the teams will play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests in this tour. T20 series will be played first, followed by ODI series and then Test series. The first Test between India and New Zealand will be played in Wellington from November 19 to 23. The second and final Test will then be played in Christchurch from November 27 to December 1.

The series is also very important for both the teams in view of the World Test Championship (WTC 2025-27) final. India is currently ranked fifth in the WTC rankings, while New Zealand is ranked third. If the Indian team wants to play in the final, they have to win all the remaining matches. In the previous Test series between the two teams, New Zealand had thrashed India 3-0.
