During his visit, the Minister engaged with several patients and their families to discuss their health, treatment progress, and experience of the hospital’s care. He also met Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman and Founder of Narayana Health, to discuss improving access to specialized medical treatment for patients from Assam and enhancing cooperation in managing complex health conditions.

Singhal interacted with heart and bone marrow transplant patients from Assam who are being treated under collaborative healthcare initiatives of the Assam Government, gathering detailed feedback on their treatment and the services provided by the hospital.

A key part of the visit was the Minister’s meeting with Rehan Ahmed, a heart transplant patient from Assam who underwent the operation the previous day. Rehan had been referred to Narayana Health City for advanced treatment as part of the Assam Health Department’s collaborative initiative. The Minister inquired about Rehan’s current health and post-transplant care.

The Minister also toured the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, meeting patients from Assam and consulting with doctors and healthcare professionals about specialized treatments. He acknowledged their efforts in delivering quality care.

The Assam Government continues to support healthcare initiatives facilitating advanced treatment for patients with critical and life-threatening illnesses at prominent medical centers outside the state. These initiatives aim to ensure timely access to quality specialized care.

Singhal’s visit underscores the Government’s commitment to the health and well-being of its citizens, especially those requiring complex medical care, and highlights efforts to provide timely, quality healthcare regardless of the medical condition’s complexity.
