UGC NET June 2026 Result: The NTA has released the results for the UGC NET re-examination. The National Testing Agency has declared the final results for the subjects of English, Commerce, and Sociology. Re-examinations for these three subjects were conducted on September 9 and 10, 2026, across 272 cities nationwide. Results for these subjects could not be released alongside those of the other subjects announced in August. The UGC NET re-examination results are now available at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

According to official data from the National Testing Agency, a total of 196,491 candidates registered for the exams in these three subjects. Of these, approximately 61 percent—or 120,355 students—actually appeared for the exam. A total of 35,588 candidates successfully qualified, representing about 29.57 percent of the total examinees. This time, thousands of young aspirants have qualified not only for JRF and Assistant Professor roles but also specifically for PhD admission.

What were the cut-off marks for the UGC NET re-examination?

Regarding cut-offs, the JRF score for the General category in English stood at 226, while in Sociology, it reached 232 marks. The data clearly indicates that the competition was extremely tough this time; however, those who worked hard successfully achieved their goal.

According to NTA data, a total of 35,588 candidates succeeded in the challenging English, Commerce, and Sociology exams. Category-wise, 824 candidates qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), accounting for approximately 0.68% of the total examinees. Additionally, 11,610 candidates—about 9.65%—qualified for the Assistant Professor post. Meanwhile, 23,154 students—or 19.24%—qualified specifically for PhD admission.

Performance across categories—from General to SC/ST—in English, Commerce, and Sociology scorecards

In the UGC NET re-examination results, cut-off marks for these three subjects varied across different categories. For instance, in Sociology, the JRF cut-off for the Unreserved (General) category was the highest at 232 marks, while the cut-off for Assistant Professor stood at 206 marks. Meanwhile, in Commerce, the cut-off for the General category was 210 marks for JRF and 182 marks for Assistant Professor. In English, the JRF cut-off for General category students was set at 226 marks. Candidates belonging to the EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories also performed well, successfully clearing the cut-offs prescribed for their respective categories.
