Sivaganga: Police on Saturday arrested three more people in the double murder case reported near Paiyur in Sivaganga district , taking the total number of arrests to 13.




On Wednesday, Deivendran , 27, of Kalaiyarkovil , and Poopandi , 25, of Siruvelangudi , were hacked to death by an unidentified gang.




Police said that two men were murdered in a case of mistaken identity . After a drunken brawl with a man named Surya , the main suspect, Satheesh , returned to the scene seeking revenge. Mistaking the victims for Surya’s group, the attackers hacked the duo to death. A police team arrested five suspects on Thursday and another five on Friday.




Following further leads, the team arrested Pasumpon, 19, and Raja, 21, of Pillur and a 16-year-old minor on Saturday.
