Hisar: An unidentified woman , believed to be around 25-26 years old, was found dead in a canal near Kharia village in Sirsa district on Friday morning. Police said the body appeared to be less than a day old. The woman was not wearing any jewellery, and had blood marks on her face.




According to police, the body was spotted floating near Sadeva Minor bridge by passersby, who alerted the police. Rania SHO Ram Kumar and a Dial 112 team reached the spot and pulled the body out of the canal. It was subsequently shifted to Civil Hospital in Sirsa for identification. Police have alerted nearby police stations and circulated the woman’s photograph in an effort to establish her identity. Officials will also check missing-person cases and contact families who may have reported women missing.




A forensic team visited the spot and collected evidence. Police are investigating how the body reached the canal and are also examining the possibility of murder.




“The woman was wearing a palazzo suit and had loose hair. Police said there was blood coming from her nose. The body did not appear decomposed and there was no foul smell, indicating that the death may have occurred within the past 24 hours,” a source said.
