Rahul Gandhi with Swami Prasad Maurya : Congress has intensified its preparations for UP elections 2027. The party first removed Ajay Rai and handed over the command of UP Congress to Aradhana Mishra. Now former minister and 8-time MLA Shyam Sundar Sharma has been included in the party. Meanwhile, in Delhi, former UP Cabinet Minister and Apni Janata Party chief Swami Prasad Maurya has met Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. After this meeting, Maurya said that his Janata Party will become a part of the INDIA alliance.

After meeting Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, 'Apni Janata Party' national president Swami Prasad Maurya told reporters, “Apni Janata Party will now become a part of the INDIA alliance… Apni Janata Party will join the INDIA alliance. The future strategy and how many seats we will contest will be discussed later… Our aim will be 'Remove BJP, save the country' and 'Save the Constitution, remove BJP'… Just like Rahul Gandhi will spread across the country SC, ST, OBC And raising the voice of minorities, our party is working in Uttar Pradesh with the same thinking and we will contest the elections as part of the alliance.”
