Sonipat/Bahadurgarh: Security has been intensified along key Haryana-Delhi border points ahead of the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, with police deploying additional personnel and stepping up surveillance at major entry routes into the national capital.
At Kundli in Sonipat and Tikri and Jharoda borders in Bahadurgarh, police have set up checkpoints and increased vehicle inspections to regulate movement and maintain law and order. Intelligence agencies have also been placed on alert, with senior officers monitoring arrangements on the ground.
According to Sonipat Police spokesperson ASI Ravinder Singh, a substantial police force has been deployed at the Kundli border, while Delhi Police have strengthened security on their side as well. Vehicles entering Delhi are being checked and movement is under close watch.
In Bahadurgarh, security has been tightened at Tikri Border , Jharoda Border , the Urban Extension Road (UER), Rohad Toll Plaza and other routes leading to Delhi. Commuters are being questioned about their travel plans, and CCTV cameras have been installed at checkpoints to enhance monitoring.
Police officials said the measures are aimed at ensuring preparedness for any eventuality during the proposed demonstration. With the protest drawing near, authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance across sensitive locations and key transit corridors along the Haryana-Delhi border.
Officials added that security arrangements would remain in place until the situation is assessed after the scheduled protest, while traffic movement continues to be monitored for any disruptions.
