Max Verstappen completed a perfect weekend in Singapore by winning his first-ever Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Red Bull driver led from pole position to take victory in the 62-lap race, while Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli finished third to strengthen his position in the Formula One title race. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished second, while Antonelli's closest title rival and teammate George Russell could manage only ninth place after starting from P19.
Max Verstappen completes perfect weekendMax Verstappen started the race from pole position and controlled the race to secure his first Singapore Grand Prix victory. The win came on his 250th Grand Prix start and was his second consecutive victory after winning the Bahrain GP in Malaysia last week.
The Dutch driver had a perfect weekend in Singapore. He secured pole position for the Sprint race, won the Sprint and then claimed pole position again for Sunday's main race.
Kimi Antonelli moves closer to F1 titleKimi Antonelli finished third and increased his lead over George Russell in the championship standings. Russell started from P19 after taking new power unit components that pushed him beyond his seasonal allocation. He eventually finished ninth.
Antonelli now has 340 points, giving him a 102-point advantage over Russell, who has 238 points after scoring two points for his ninth-place finish.
Lewis Hamilton drops to sixth in closing lapsIt was a disappointing finish for Lewis Hamilton, who dropped from third to sixth in the final laps. Hamilton chose a one-stop strategy and made an early pit stop to switch from medium tyres to soft tyres. He was among the few drivers in the top 10 who started the race on medium tyres.
Lando Norris attempted to pass Hamilton for third place on lap 54. However, Norris' tyres picked up dirt as Antonelli moved ahead of the reigning champion.
Antonelli then overtook Hamilton to take third place. Norris also passed the Ferrari driver to finish fourth, while his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri overtook Hamilton in the closing stages to secure fifth place.
Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson finished seventh, ahead of Audi's Nico Hulkenberg in eighth place. Isack Hadjar completed the top 10 by finishing ninth after starting the race from the pit lane.
