Lucknow. For the farmers of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has taken many important steps towards increasing agricultural production and reducing the cost of farming. The government has set a target to increase the production of oilseed crops in the year 2026-27. For this, along with providing free seed kits to the farmers, subsidy on agricultural equipment will also be provided.

Farmers will get 50 lakh free seed kits

The government aims to increase the production of oilseed crops to 48 lakh tonnes. For this, a plan has been made to distribute 50 lakh mini seed kits to the farmers. This initiative can help farmers adopt oilseed cultivation and increase production.

Subsidy will be available on seeds and agricultural equipment

To provide relief to the farmers, the government has made a provision of subsidy of Rs 600 crore on seeds and Rs 350 crore on agricultural equipment. This can provide financial help to eligible farmers in gathering necessary resources for farming.

Cheap loans and fertilizer facilities to farmers

According to the government, 54 lakh new farmers have been added to the cooperative banking system. Under Kisan Credit Card, loans are also being provided to eligible farmers at concessional interest rates on prescribed terms. Apart from this, emphasis has been laid on maintaining adequate stock of urea and DAP for the upcoming Rabi season.

These schemes can help farmers to get seeds, agricultural equipment and loans for farming. However, to avail the benefit of free seed kit and subsidy, farmers should get information about the eligibility and application process of the scheme from the Agriculture Department.
