New Delhi. Congress has taken major action against the officials who were absent from the ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ rally called by the India Alliance on November 1 at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. The absence of officials has taken a heavy toll.

Major action has been taken by Indian Youth Congress in three states. Congress has suspended a total of 83 people, including 60 Youth Congress office-bearers in Madhya Pradesh, 10 in Haryana and 13 in Himachal Pradesh. Leaders ranging from State Vice President, General Secretary to District President are involved in this action taken by Congress. Amidst the claims of gathering crowd in the rally, now the message is being given to fix accountability within the organization itself.

Let us tell you that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the rally of opposition alliance ‘India’ organized at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on November 1, had given a big statement regarding Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. Alleging ‘vote theft’, he had said that Gyanesh Kumar will have to face trial for this and will have to go to jail.

Rahul Gandhi had said that this fight will continue to save the democracy and constitution of the country. He had alleged that what Gyanesh Kumar has done is not a normal theft, but a case of ‘rarest of rare’ category in legal language. Rahul Gandhi had accused the Chief Election Commissioner of stealing votes through the use of EVMs and removing 13.5 crore names from the voter list. He had said, “What Gyanesh Kumar has done for the Prime Minister and the Home Minister is tantamount to treason and theft of the voice of every citizen.”

Rahul Gandhi had said that the people gathered here are giving the message that no matter how powerful and rich someone is, he cannot be bigger than the Constitution. The Constitution is supreme. He described this rally as a demonstration of unity and collective strength to save democracy. He said, “The Prime Minister, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar have attacked the soul, democracy and Constitution of the country, but we will not tolerate it.”
