New Delhi. With the departure of South-West Monsoon from the country, now Northeast Monsoon rains have started. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there has been a warning of heavy rain in the southern parts of India. According to the alert issued by the Meteorological Department, there are chances of heavy rain in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This rain may continue for the next two days.
According to IMD, South-West Monsoon has departed from the entire country from today, and along with it the activity of Northeast Monsoon has also started. Due to the low pressure area in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal, heavy to extremely heavy rains are expected in other areas including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Rayalaseema. The Meteorological Department has said that this low pressure area will deepen further in the next 24 hours, which may cause flood like situation in parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
How was the weather condition in the last 24 hours?
During the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall has been recorded over coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It received rainfall of up to 15 cm, especially in Nellore and Bapatla districts of Andhra Pradesh, while Pudukottai and Chennai in Tamil Nadu also witnessed heavy rainfall.
Heavy rain for next two days
Heavy rains will continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka between October 15 and 17. Heavy rain is also expected in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh till October 16. Apart from this, there is a possibility of strong winds and inclement weather over the southern parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Wind speed can reach 35 to 55 kilometers per hour.
