Shah Rukh Khan Role In King: Everyone knows Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana are coming together in Sujoy Ghosh’s King. What is not known is that Shah Rukh’s role of a professional assassin who ends up protecting the girl whose entire family is killed, is a descendent of French actor Jean Reno’s Leon in the 1994 film of that name directed by Luc Besson. In Leon, Jean Reno has no choice but to look after a 12-year old girl after her family is wiped out. In King Suhana is no longer 12. But she is nonetheless provided reluctant protection by the hitman played by her real-life father.A close friend of Shah Rukh’s reveals, “It isn’t Leon completely. But yeah, the basic plot in King is inspired by the same source. Shah Rukh was keen to team up with his daughter in a subject where they weren’t playing father and daughter. The Leon format hits all the right buttons.”Interestingly, the same plot was the inspiration for Guddu Dhanoa’s Bobby Deol-Rani Mukerji starrer Bichchoo in 2000.
