Those farmers who are harming their fields and environment by burning stubble and other crop residues can do good to themselves and the environment by learning from the conscious farmers of Milawali village in Gwalior district. The farmers here have avoided burning stubble by managing stubble, weeding and other types of crop residues through super seeder. Divisional Commissioner Manoj Khatri reached Milawali village on Wednesday and encouraged the farmers by welcoming them with bouquets. The farmers here have become an example for all the farmers of the division.


On this occasion, Divisional Commissioner Khatri directed the officers of Agricultural Engineering and Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Department to spread publicity about Super Seeder in every village through field staff, so that the trend of stubble burning can be effectively stopped. . He said that farmers should also be told that huge subsidy is given by the government for super seeder.


Divisional Commissioner Khatri reached the paddy field of alert farmer Amritlal of village Milawali and saw the sowing of wheat along with weeding management with super seeder. After harvesting paddy, Amritlal is sowing wheat directly in the field through super seeder. Describing the benefits of sowing with super seeder, Amritlal said that burning of stubble after harvesting of paddy prevents wheat from being sown on time, due to which the high temperature at the time of ripening of the crop has an adverse effect on wheat production. Is. Besides, burning of stubble not only reduces the fertility of the field, the smoke arising from it also causes great harm to the environment. Super Seeder has solved this problem of farmers.


Amritlal, Girraj Singh, Kaushalendra and Anjesh and other farmers of Milawali village said that the super seeder mixes the weeds in the soil, which provides green manure for the wheat crop. Besides, direct sowing without burning stubble also saves time and cost. All of them said that in our village for the last three years, after harvesting paddy, sowing is being done with super seeder. Earlier a super seeder had come to our village. Inspired by the benefits of its sowing, there are now five super seeders in our village. All the farmers of the district should sow with super seeder instead of burning stubble.


Divisional Agriculture Engineer GC Marscole said that farmers are given a grant of Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand by the government through the Agricultural Engineering Department to buy super seeder. The price of Super Seeder ranges between two and a half to three lakh rupees.


The Divisional Commissioner also learned about other problems of the villagers.


During the visit, Divisional Commissioner Manoj Khatri met the farmers and heard their problems and difficulties. Villagers said that the hand pumps had stopped providing water due to the water level in the village going down. The tap water scheme established by the government has solved the drinking water problem of the village. Due to this, drinking water is being supplied smoothly. The Divisional Commissioner called upon the villagers to cooperate in works to water conservation and promotion. He said this will increase the water level of the village. He instructed the Village Employment Assistant and Panchayat Secretary to carry out water saving work under MNREGA in the village.


On this occasion, Divisional Agriculture Engineer GC Marscole and Deputy Director RS Shakyawar along with other concerned officers and farmers of village Milawali were present.
