EPFO withdraw money from PF: This is important news for the employees and account holders of the Employees Provident Fund Organization. If you want to withdraw some part of the amount deposited from the Provident Fund (PF) but do not know the process of withdrawing money, then this news is useful for you.
Actually, money is deposited in the EPF scheme run by the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the benefit of this fund is available in the form of pension after retirement, although the contributory gives the facility to withdraw money from the PF account if needed. While withdrawing PF, it is necessary for the account holder to follow the conditions set by EPFO, otherwise your application may be canceled. Keep in mind that after withdrawal your PF balance will decrease, which may affect the amount received at the time of retirement.
In which situation can you withdraw money from your PF account?
- Partial withdrawal may be done if emergency treatment is required.
- Money can also be withdrawn from PF fund for children's education.
- If you or your siblings or your son or daughter are getting married, you can withdraw money from your PF account.
- Apart from buying a house, money can also be withdrawn from this fund for home repair work.
- After requesting for withdrawal of money from PF account, money reaches the bank account within 7 to 10 working days. If the money does not reach within these days, you can contact the helpline number 1800-180-1425.
Process for partial withdrawal from PF
- Step 1. You need to visit the UAN portal and enter your UAN number and password.
- Step 2. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Enter this OTP and captcha.
- Step 3. Your profile page will open. At the top right of the web page, you will find the “Online Services” option. Now click on ‘Claim’ from the scroll down options.
- Step 4. Now you have to verify the member details by entering the bank account number linked with EPFO.
- Step 5. Now a Certificate of Undertaking will be received stating that the claimed amount will be credited to this bank account by EPFO. Now you have to click 'Yes' for the terms and conditions.
- Step 6. Now you can proceed for online claim. As soon as you click on this option, a section will open in which you have to enter more details.
- Step 7. Here you have to provide your address and also upload some documents like scanned cheque and Form 15G. In this way the claim will be submitted to withdraw the balance of EPF account.
How to Apply in EPFO Portal
- First of all log in to the EPFO portal through UAN and password.
- After this, go to online service, select the claim and then click on auto mode settlement.
- Then you verify your bank account and upload the account passbook or cheque.
- Then, after giving the reason for withdrawing the money, submit it.
How to withdraw money from Umang APP?
- Register in Umang App through Aadhar card number or mobile number.
- Now select the option of EPFO service.
- Then log in to EPFO service through Aadhaar number or mobile number.
- Now enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
- Now go to the PF Withdrawal option and click on Claim Form.
- Then after filling all the required details, submit it.
Now enter the OTP received on the mobile number again.
