The Thane Police have revealed a mobile resting van designed to provide necessary amenities during extended shifts in an effort to help female police personnel in Maharashtra. According to a police official on Thursday, the new program aims to provide a pleasant place for female employees to relax while on duty and a handy area for nursing moms.
As part of a trial initiative, the vehicle was introduced on Tuesday and has a number of comforts to help female police throughout their long workdays. According to the spokeswoman, a female police officer and a female constable will operate the vehicle, guaranteeing an emphasis on operational effectiveness and safety.
With a sofa-cum-bed, toilet, bathroom, two sinks, and two dressing rooms, the van provides a much-needed place to unwind and have solitude.
The police agency intends to expand the program if the test proves successful, deploying similar vans across Thane’s five police zones.
It has two washbasins, two changing rooms, a toilet, a bathroom, and a sofa-cum-bed.
According to the official, if the facility works well, one of these vans would be placed in each of Thane’s five police zones.
